How To Find Romance
On The Golf Course

When I first read the statistics I couldn’t believe them.  Only 1 out of 4 golfers are women. Then my mind immediately went to all of the stereotypical reasons why that is probably so:

Golf is a good old boy sport and doors are closed to women.

Golf is only played by Republicans.

Women don’t have the time or inclination to play golf.

There are not as many opportunities in golf for women as there are for men.

Men are just mean to women on the golf course

Blah…Blah….Blah….

Only 1 in 4? What’s up with that? I mean, we are not talking about rugby here! Where are the athletic women that could be enjoying this sport?

Doesn’t that mean that there are countless golf courses all over the country where hordes of single, attractive, passionate and entertaining guys are congregating. Further, if you started showing up, wouldn’t you have precious little competition?

What if the Sex and the City gals heard those odds? This is my guess. Charlotte would go out and get herself a great outfit, find a pro, take lessons and get right out there. She wouldn’t care how she looked out there or how disinterested some guys may be, she would see the husband material and get out there.

Samantha wouldn’t bother with the lessons. She would dress a little too provocatively and carry her martini down to the range and flirt to her hearts content with all of the guys until she spotted one to show her how to hold the club.

Miranda would not be in love with the idea but the odds would get her attention. She would TIVO a golf tournament rolling her eyes but then when she sees Tiger Woods in his form fitting golf shirt, she will put her glass of wine down and open her mind to the idea.

Carrie, well, Carrie has a real problem with the shoes, still has Big and doesn’t really care about golf so I see her sitting on the veranda, sipping a cocktail and watching the guy candy as she waits for her friends.

Bottom line, I believe that when those women heard the odds, even they would step over the perceived obstacles and get their cute little asses out there to meet the men. If that many men are gathered in one place at one time EVERY SINGLE SATURDAY why aren’t more single women taking advantage of that?

Which character can you relate to?  If you need to feel confident about the game before you out there, then follow Charlotte’s lead and find a pro to give you the basics.  But you have to admit, just like Carrie and Miranda, even if the idea doesn’t immediate thrill you, the 3 to 1 odds are pretty compelling.

Of course, Samantha always leads the way with pure instinct…Great guys?  She is there!

Why are so few gorgeous and fascinating single women…yes I mean you, missing out on all of this opportunity!!
